Organizational Overview

While completing UX design coursework, I was assigned the task of creating a fully functioning web and mobile prototype for a peer-to-peer payment application.

The Problem

As a part of my UX design coursework, I was required to create a responsive prototype for a peer-to-peer payment web application.   In order to create a useful app, market saturation, customer needs, and design trends needed to be evaluated.   Total timeline from concept to final design was approximately 6 months.

The Solution

My duties for this project included researching competitors to find gaps in the market, evaluating UX/UI designs of other similar apps, assessing user needs and creating wireframes based on initial evaluation.

Low, mid and high fidelity wireframes were created to build on the concept.  User testing was conducted at every stage to evaluate usability and iterate upon the design accordingly.  Final designs were A/B tested based on the final round of user testing feedback and turned into a final prototype.

Conclusion

Valuable experience was gained by conducting research, forming the application's information architecture, and developing my UI design skillset. With the help of guided exercises and feedback from industry professionals, I was able to showcase UX fundamentals while working on a project through the entire design process.
