Portfolio Site: Web Design

As a part of my UX design coursework, I was required to create a portfolio website to showcase my UX design course projects.  For the portfolio website, I could use any website builder of my choosing and it was recommended to use a custom domain.  The website was to be created as quickly as possible, ideally within 3-5 days.

With the constraint of time, I researched a handful of website building platforms known for ability to create portfolio websites quickly.  I tested out a couple platforms initially, but the Google Sites website builder proved to be the most user friendly while offering the ability to host a website for free while using using a custom domain.  Most other low-cost options have limited functionality, steep learning curves or unreliable hosting.

After deciding on a website builder, I created a wireframes for the pages of the website.  After that, I built out a rough draft with mock text of each page using my wireframes as a guide.  After building a rough drafts, I filled in my pages with final copy and evaluated the design, cleaning up any issues found.

Lastly, I tested the site to ensure the navigation worked as expected, buttons linked to the proper pages and all other elements worked as desired.

Positive feedback was received when my portfolio website was evaluated during my UX design course.  It has allowed me to have a professionally branded website to share with potential employers.  My completion of the UX design course has lead to work related to product design, UX design, and business analysis.
